Professor Gavin Walker (FIChemE) holds the Bernal Chair in Pharmaceutical Powder Engineering at the University of Limerick, Ireland. He is a member of the Materials Surface Science Institute (MSSI) and the Solid State Pharmaceuticals Cluster (SSPC) at Limerick.
He is also a Visiting Professor of Chemical Engineering at Queen's University Belfast.
Professor Walker's personal group includes 14 research students and 2 PDRA's. He has published >100 international journal papers in areas of pharmaceutical, environmental and bioengineering. Professor Walker is principal investigator on research projects funded by InvestNI, EU, SFI, Enterprise Ireland and several multinational companies.
Professor Walker has been appointed as The Royal Academy of Engineering/Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellow.
Professor Walker's research is concerned with developing a fundamental understanding of chemical; and physical processes of industrial importance, including areas of:
Professor Walker is a Royal Academy of Engineering ExxonMobil Teaching Fellow and is Associate-Editor of the “Chemical Engineering Journal” and of "Chemical Engineering Research and Design".
