For the group’s significant contributions to organic synthesis, chemical biology and medicinal chemistry, Professor Hale has been honoured with a number of prestigious research awards and named lectureships. These include:

2011 Royal Society of Chemistry Bader Award and Medal
"for outstanding contributions to organic chemistry, including elegant total syntheses and pioneering new synthetic methods of broad use to the community" and for "significant contributions to the synthesis and medicinal chemistry of bioactive natural products and their analogs." The RSC Bader Award and Medal is awarded annually "to recognise eminence in organic chemistry, that has not previously been rewarded by the RSC."
