Christmas 2011 Research Meeting and AGM
Introduction: Research Meetings organised by the Molten Salt Discussion Group are informative, interesting, informal and inspiring events. The Group organizes two meeting per year, one in the summer and one just before Christmas. These meetings give an opportunity to both established researchers, and up-and-coming researchers, to disseminate and discuss their findings in a friendly and constructive environment.
Venue: This year's Christams Meeting and Group's AGM will take place at 15Hatfields, London (for directions, please see map) on the 19th of December 2011.
Theme: As usual, the 2011 MSDG Christmas Meeting accepts papers in all areas of the science and technology of ionic liquids and molten salts. If you are interested in attending the meeting, either as an Author or as a delegate, please fill out and submit the electronic form described below. Authors are required to submit an abstract by Friday 9th December which will be bound and distributed to the attendees and made available on-line at this web-site.
Abstract submission: Abstracts should be prepared as a single-sided A4 page using MS Word (any version of WORD but not pdf). Abstract should including title, authors' names (presenter underlined), affiliation, post and email addresses. Ideally, the abstract should include one Figure that highlights the key results of the work. Abstracts should be submitted electronically to a.p.doherty@qub.ac.uk (by Friday 9th December) with an indication of whether an oral or a posted presentation is desired. Please note that the oral presentation time is typically 20~30 minutes for each speaker, including up to 5 minutes for questions and discussion.
Please note that all oral presentations will be via a DVD/USB enabled laptop pc and data projector. Posters presentation up to size A0 can be accommodated. (The MSDG committee apologises for not being able to help with other types of electronic presentation materials.)

The electronic registration form can be downloaded from here. Please fill in all the required fields and submit it by clicking on the submit button (please be careful to submit it only once.) All the details will be automatically sent to the MSDG Committee.

*Bursaries are available upon application to the committee for students and retired members. If you are interested in applying for a bursary please contact Dr Watson (Robert.Watson@awe.co.uk). A decision on the award of bursaries will be made two weeks before the meeting by the MSDG Committee.
**Commercial presentations relevant to molten salts and ionic liquids research and industry are welcome at the MSDG Meetings. These are mostly posters, brochures, electronic displays (e.g. on a computer screen) with information on company profiles, products and recruitment information. Please contact Dr Watson (Robert.Watson@awe.co.uk) for pricing.
Once you have registered you should send a cheque (made payable to Molten Salt Discussion Group), or a purchase order, to Dr Robert Watson at the adress below. Alternatively, you may pay the registration fee at the meeting.
